The ability for a piece of content to earn natural links that positively contribute to a website’s link graph is directly proportional to that contents value. In other words, the more valuable the piece of content is, the easier it will be to earn high-value links and increase Google traffic. Conversely, the less valuable a piece of content is, the harder it will be to earn links. If you find that your backlinks are mainly coming from a small pool of domains, look at a way to diversify your backlink strategy to get links from a greater variety of domains. Review your h1 tags across your site, using a crawler to find them all if required. Do they all describe the page accurately? Do they use the keyword target? And do they match the title tag in what they say the page is about? Search engine optimization has significantly changed in recent years much to the amiss of Google’s guidelines With responsive design, the only thing that changes across devices is the styling
(which is controlled by CSS). This configuration makes it easier for Google to crawl
your pages and retrieve your content. To quote Google, “This improvement in
crawling efficiency can indirectly help Google index more of the site’s contents
and keep it appropriately fresh.
Don't fill your page with lists of keywords, attempt to "cloak" pages, or put up "crawler only" pages. If your site contains pages, links, or text that you don't intend visitors to see, Google considers those links and pages deceptive and may ignore your site. To rank locally it is critical to set up a Google My Business Account. Once you have signed up and submitted your business details you will be sent a post card in order to verify the account. You should be selective and ensure you pick the most relevant categories to your business, add photos and write up a unique description. You want your page title to accurately describe
what your page is about but you also want it to
be “clickable”. Meaning, you want it to draw a
searcher’s attention in a search result and entice
them to click on it. On top of that, your page title
should include your target keyword. Do you publish new content exclusively for the enjoyment of your existing audience? Or do you want it to rank high in Google and bring new visitors to your site month after month? Don’t forget to tell Google your site is mobile-proof. You can add a viewport declaration – if you’re using responsive design – or a Vary header when using dynamic serving.
Start Using Google Authorship
ou know SEO is a vital element of every decent marketing strategy, something you can’t do without. But you don’t know where to start to implement best practice and optimise your web presence so search engines can do a proper job of ranking and rating it. When you architect a website and you place SEO at the forefront of a web project, you’re doing two things simultaneously. You’re making sure your website will be usable by search engines and your actual website visitors. Get into the habit of providing at least two internal links in every piece of content you produce. As long as it’s offering the user value, Google is going to reward you. What is SEO? If anyone guarantees you page 1 ranking on Google within a three-month timespan, run for the hills. If you are going to use freelancers, beware of duplicate content. Always make sure to check the content that you get by searching for the content on Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
Include internal and external links
Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, commented: "Have An Effective, Personalize Outreach Template" In social search, content that has a social
connection to you in some way is prioritized.
A social connection could mean someone you
are linked to via Facebook, Twitter, or any other
major social network. Conventional wisdom has been that 301 redirects only pass about 85% of link equity. You can reach out to higher trafficked websites that people in your prime demographic are reading, and ask if you can write a blog post for them. Create a quality piece of valuable content and use your bio at the bottom of the post to create a compelling picture of the products or services you offer and link to your website. Earning links from high domain authority sites (determine this with a tool like Mozbar) is the #1 thing you can do to drive visibility of your site up. Links from trustworthy sites signal to search engines that your site is trustworthy too. Effective link building is now about trust and popularity. Only a high-quality backlink works in this model.
Rate of new link growth may signal freshness
After crawling your site and collecting every bit of information possible, search engines index and organize their findings in databases (think of these as massive file folders). All of these databases make up what’s called The Index. Google's algorithms try to mimic the decisions of real people. The better your links work with real people, the better the links will work with Google's algorithms. Backlinks are links from outside domains that point to pages on your domain; essentially linking back from their domain to yours. Thousands of backlinks with a same anchor text produce negative results.Apart from disavowing low quality backlinks, I did see people disavowing their backlinks due to this over anchor text density. Search engines are responsible for driving a majority of the traffic. This is because people heavily rely on Google to get information. In 2012, people searched on Google 3.5 billion times per day. We don’t know exactly how many searches are being done today, but you can imagine the number is considerably higher.
Figure out what people are searching for
Select the best related keywords and start a list. Words with low competition will catch your eye as opportunities. Those are keywords people are searching for, but there isn’t a hefty amount of content available to answer their questions. The best domain names are short, snappy, include your best keywords, easy to remember, and easy to spell. Including keywords in your domain name will be useful for sites like Bing in particular that place great emphasis on including keywords. Organizing your website into various sections, each with their own unique focus, will help visitors to find the content they’re seeking, as well as similar content they might also enjoy perusing. Thin content is the idea that there’s not much actual text on an ecommerce site compared to, say, a blog or software site. Imagine dozens and dozens of thin content pages created because of random product attribute and product filter pages. Some of those pages might only list one or two products. Really good SEO is a process and it requires a detailed and well thought out
plan. You cannot expect to execute quality SEO without listing out what
you’re going to do, documenting yourself along the way, and executing step
